Lesson 12 - Written on Our Hearts
Your capstone is ready to share!
What does this mean?
All of the lessons and activations are designed to help you learn and grow as a storyteller. Wherever you go in the world whether on-the-field in a foreign country, at home surrounded by friends, and elsewhere in your faith journey, you have the capability and clarity to share the Word.
Disciples carry the story from your heart to the world.
Activation 12
Let’s do a final activation where you can reflect on your journey and perhaps, this writing will be the first step in a new project.
After you finish writing, we will review your capstone and get ready to publish your Capstone Project.
APOTHEOSIS 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
Preparing Your Capstone for Publishing
Over the last 3 activations, you have organized your long form capstone and earlier blogs. YWAM has partnered with professional experts to publish your story on the website. The final step is reviewing your project including checking for grammar and adding the visual elements you want to share.
Using this checklist will help you catch any errors or areas of improvement before publishing your content:
Proofread for spelling and grammar errors - Using Google Docs, Grammarly, and other tools is helpful.
☐ Check for clarity and coherence of ideas - Share with a friend and ask for help. No matter how talented even professional writers rely on editors to make sure your ideas are clear.
☐ Ensure the content is well-organized with a clear structure - Make sure your headings are in place. Using lists, bullet points, and other easy to read devices is helpful.
☐ Review the introduction to ensure it hooks the reader and provides a clear overview of the topic.
☐ Verify that each paragraph focuses on a single main idea and flows logically - You should be able to highlight one sentence from each paragraph and understand the story.
☐ Check for smooth transitions between paragraphs and sections
☐ Make sure the writing sounds like you - Sometimes too much editing removes your personality. A blog is not a novel or even a school paper. Be yourself!
☐ Trim unnecessary or repetitive sentences to improve conciseness
☐ Add relevant images or visual elements to enhance the content - This a fun chance to share images you have gathered along the way. You can share one or a few images on every blog. The longer your writing, the more images can help tell your story.
☐ Review the conclusion to ensure it provides a satisfying ending or call-to-action
From lesson 10 and 11, you can review your email and social media campaigns using the same checklist.
