Lesson 8 - Promoting Your Story
In the second lesson, we talked about building a wheel. Through each activation, you have added a spoke to the wheel. Now that you have begun thinking about how storytelling skills help with all of your communications, we will start to create your complete story.
Storytelling is a powerful way to make a positive change in the world. In this activation, we will consider two things.
- First, take time to think about how you shared your story with the world before YWAM. Review old social media posts, emails, texts, and any other forms of expression.
Social Media Audit - Social media is designed to help people connect easily and effectively but it can also pose challenges as we grow. In order to promote your story, you may need to update your social media including profile images, reviewing old images that no longer reflect your faith journey, and updating other information to let your light shine clear and bright.
- Now review the blogs you have written in the last seven activations.
Draw the Wheel - Write your name at the center of a blank page. Starting at the top, write the main point of your first blog from activation one. Moving in a circle like hands on a clock, add the main points from each of your activations. This is the story of your faith journey and it is gaining momentum!
Activation 8
Let’s keep the momentum going. Reflecting on the blogs you have written so far, let’s create a new activation on the theme of: Positive Change.
POSITIVE CHANGE Psalm 118:17 I will not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.
Place this blog within the wheel drawing.
The activations in blog writing, creating social media scripts, and writing emails will help as we move onto the final part of this training guide. In the upcoming lessons, we will summarize your story, learn how to create a campaign, and complete a capstone project.
A capstone project is a final project that allows you to apply your knowledge and skills to solve a real-world problem. Sometimes it involves research, analysis, and the development of a practical solution. The purpose of this project is to reflect on your journey and demonstrate to others your ability to communicate the Word. It's an opportunity to put skills into practice and prepare for future endeavors.
